One of my piggys named lola has been breathing fast and its worrying me. She has a bit of discharge from her nose but not much. Other than that she is fine. I was wondering if it was the bedding, because it is dusty and I am ordering new bedding for her. Or if its URI. If it is URI what should I do since i can’t take her to visit the vet any time soon. This has been going on for a few months and she still is very energetic but is making those noises. Also any recommendations for good paper bedding? By cool breathing I mean by a small fast wind noise.

you need to take your piggie to a vet to check your piggies health.I'm not sure if you are in the usa/or uk.fitch is good paper bedding in the uk,it is pricey, this can be bought on amazon uk. I still believe you need to get your piggie to the vet for the correct diagnosis.

I agree with the advice above. If you live in the US some beddings that i reccomend are, Carefresh, Kaytee Clean and Cozy (not the scented kinds, as these are dangerous) and any other paper based beddings as these are dust free and dont cause piggies to sneeze unlike wood shavings. These beddings and any other paper based ones can be bought off of Amazon us and any pet stores. If you live in the uk fitch is a good option along with any other paper based beddings in the uk, fitch and any other paper based beddings can be bought off of amazon uk or be found in petstores. Please take your piggie to the vet and let us know how it goes.

Is there any reason why you can't take her to the vet?

Hi!

Make sure that you save up for any vet fees as part of your piggies weekly living cost right from the start. Keep in mind that for a guinea pig a month is about a year in life.

Here is our bedding guide. Also consider getting dust-free hay.
Be aware that if she is always cool, it could be an indication of a developing heart problem.

Yes its because the place i live in doesnt have any vets around me and the vet that ive been contacting says they cant do anything about it and not to worry, but I'm trying my best.

Thank you all for all your help. Ive taken lola to the vet the other day. The vet told me that it can be a small respiratory infection caused by her bedding. I am planning to uses fleece and see how it will go so far.
