Now and again I leave a small slice of bread out in the kitchen overnight for it to go hard and crunchy..Then give it to my piggies, and they love it! It's good for wearing their teeth down.

Have done this for years and have never caused them any harm

Anyone else do it or tried it?

Kelly and piggies xx

I know a number of people who do but I personally wouldn't. I was surprised at just how much sugar and salt is in one slice of bread. I know no-one feeds that amount to their pigs, but the stuff that goes into sliced breads bought from supermarkets would put me off feeding it to my pigs! They prefer fruit as a once-in-a-while treat to anything else.

I've heard of this, but not done it, because my gluten-free bread is so full of calcium and extra minerals I know it would be bad for them!

As an occational treat it is ok, toasted is nice a crunchy. But I do have to agree that you can't beat a good helping for veggies for the piggers.
