Is it best to have boys above girls or below to reduce risks of two boys fighting?

I'm no expert but I think I read you can't have boys and girls in the same room in case the males start fighting, I could be wrong though.

Some people manage if the boys are used to girls but thanks for your reply.I think a lot can't be in the same room

I think I read somewhere that the females' pheromones don't rise, so if they must be housed in the same room it's better to have the males on top and the females at the bottom.

i think i have read this too somewhere, that boys should be on the top layer
& always handle the boys first so that they don't get all argumentative about the girls scent on you, being wafted about to tease & tempt them. xx

I had boys and girls in the same room. I had the 2 boys in their c&c on the floor and the 3 girls c&c cage was raised up on a table made by my Dad. I've never had any issues with this arrangement. But made sure they were not at sight level as that can cause problems.
I don't think it would make much difference what level they were on, as long as they couldn't see each other.
