First I apologise if this question has been posted before, I did do a quick search but couldnt find anything.

My piggies will be moving into my attic for the winter, now when I say attic its actually a room on the top floor of house. Was my husbands 'games room' but his game console broke so its just not being used. Husband set it up with a little kitchen area so it has a fridge already in there it would be a shame to waste it. So Ive stolen it and have plans to turn it into a Piggie Room. But I have 2 boys and 3 girls, however it occured to me that although they are kept separate the smell of the girls might upset the boys? I was wondering if there was a minimum distance?

I am not an expert but my cage set up is 4 girls in a big cage and a boy in a smaller one. Pete (Boar) is right next to the girls and the go up the ramp next to him and everything. He grumbles but that is about it. I think it is fine having then in the same room. As long as they can not have contact they would be fine:) Good Luck!

I have lots of boys and lots of girls all in the same space. I keep the boys about 2 metres away from the girls if on the same level.

When they move indoors for the winter I stack the cages, always keeping the girls below the boys so no bedding, etc that has the girls' scent can fall into the boys cages and set their hormones off.

Oh great! Its quite a large space and hubby is building 2 piggy pens for them and it should be quite easy to leave a 2 metre gap between the pens. Thanks I got a bit worried there for a while. Glad to know my plans are still on track x :)
