Hey.

I have two boys fairly new to me.

I currently have one boy who has been castrated
and is waitin to go in with his lady friend and then my three girls.

My question is will my boys be ok if they can see each other.
They will live in seperate hutches the two who are bonded and then my boy and his lady friend and go out in seperate runs.

But through the runs they can see each other is that ok?

Sorry may be a silly question...

I'm sorry piggy family but I think it is highly inappropriate to post your competition entry on a thread where someone is seeking specific help and advice on a matter. If I was Mad Katter I would have been overly disappointed and upset to open this thread and see the only response is one trying to spam people into voting for their guinea pig. Please use a little tact and just start your own thread for your competition entry.

Mad Katter, I am not overly experienced in keeping boar pairs but from what I have read if boars can smell a female then it can create tension and can cause a fall out in the pair. I say "can" because obviously you might be lucky that it all works out but you need to judge if you are willing to take the risk. Failing that I hope someone a bit more experienced will be along to advise you

I've had a pair of boys in the same room as females and i found it cause the boys to be a little more nippy with each other and more humping etc. so keeping them all in the same room may be a problem.

Hmmm, when I had sows my boys used to go mad, even though they were on the other side of a big room and couldn't see the girls. Just sound and smell was enough I suppose, so I think its definitely something to look out for. Suppose you don't know til you try, cause all pigs are different :) Is it possible to have them further apart if need be?

Everything seems ok at the moment.
It was something I hadnt really thought of to be honest.
But I want everyone to be happy.
My boys seem quite intereated in each other and have shown noa aggresive behaviour.
I can move them if need be. :-)
