Hello! I’ve heard a few people saying that because of COVID-19 supermarkets have been spraying cardboard boxes with disinfectant in order to kill off bacteria. Does anyone know any known supermarkets who do this? Or any ones that don’t?

Not heard this. . . Hope not . I use a lot for my piggies.
Hope someone on here works at a supermarket could answer. .

My mums parrot chews up cereal boxes, etc from supermarkets twice a day for his enrichment and he has been fine.

I think this was definitely one of those tumours that got spread around with no real evidence.
There really would be no point in spraying boxes, it would be impossible to do it thoroughly given the turnover, and so a costly and pointless activity.

This definitely couldnt be done on any boxes that might contain food, and it wouldnt be very effective on cardboard anyway. They would have to label the boxes too if there was any chemical residue. Fake news I think.
