I wanted to make a hidey out of this box. But it has this smooth, plastic thing on the outside, kind of like a shoe box does.

Will it be okay for my pigs?

I can't see the picture but from what you have described,I woud recomend that you try it first but if they are eating the box, take it out as the pastic bit could be bad for them to eat.

I can’t take it out. It’s like that sort of thing they put on shoe boxes; it’s smooth and usually colorful. It’s attached to the cardboard. Sort of like it’s painted on. I’ve seen people make hideys out of shoe boxes, so I think it should be safe.

If you have seen other people do it, it should be fine but if your pigs are eating the box quite a bit, maybe take the box out. Hope they enjoy it :)

I have no idea what you mean by the plastic coating but if there is any doubt then I just wouldn't do it and find a normal, uncoated cardboard box to use

I’d avoid anything with a lot of ink. Simple brown cardboard boxes are best. Thank you Amazon for a neverending supply.

Piggies love paper bags. There is a certain shop which use brown paper bags, Primark I think.. :hmm:
