Hi so i have read the advice on here and on other threads about cleaning boars , bottom issues and the oily gland.
I have 2x 12 month old entire boars who get on well, no issues so far. One of them though had wet and dirty bottom near the gland last week. Trimmed the long hair and cleaned him up but today noticed he is wet again. They live indoors and this week faint odour for the first time ever, ( i spot clean daily on fleece).
Not sure if he had normal discharge type stuff, infection or in fact ( he is the humpy one of the pair) if its something else.
Advice please.....normal or cause for concern?
Otherwise all ok as usual , eating pooping, wheeking, popcorning etc
Cheers

Is he sitting in his urine or sitting when he urinates and gets himself wet? Is the fleece wicking properly? I would consider getting him checked out.

Please check whether his bedding is absorbent but if the urination continues to be very strong, please have him vet checked next week.

Its not urine don't think, bedding absorbent and changed daily , thinking its from the gland area as that is where is wet?

So there is no wetness on the belly, just his grease gland?

Please book an appointment slot at the vets for next week either online or call the clinic on Tuesday morning.
It is not an emergency but I would recommend to have it seen sometime in the coming week as it requires a hands-on examination.

He could have an infected grease gland but only a vet can diagnose and treat and it of course, could be something completely different. Please have him vet checked during regular opening hours
Will do 👍 thanks for your help
