i've got the trixie 150 cage at the minute, but just the base with mesh grids round the outside. if the bottles are on the outside the spout isn't long enough, so the bottles have to be on the inside balanced on the cage edge. i had those material holders but maisie chewed through them, so i got bottle springs, but they are so tight they're squeezing the bottles and making them drip.. :{

what else can i use? ideally i need something that holds the bottles and clips on the mesh cube bars on the inside.

got the savic bottles now so already a long spout.

thanks. :)

I've got a glass bottle that's designed to go on the inside of a cage. They sell them in pets at home and you can get them on ebay. There is a metal wire clip that hangs on the cage to support the neck of the bottle and the bottle spring fits into a groove in the glass at the top. The spout is long too. They're a bit pricey but I think it's very secure and I don't worry about it falling off. You just need to push the spout in well so it doesn't come off (it comes out completely for cleaning).

could you buy some craft wire or general purpose wire and cut it to the size you need?

thanks. do you have a pic of it on the cage? does it stick forward quite far because where it would clip on the mesh cube, there's then the ledge of the cage, and it would need to be a bit forward to keep the bottle straight. because now the bottles have to balance on that ledge to keep them straight. they don't drip when they are slanted... :{

don't think that made sense! :red:))

i know what i mean! :))

thanks for the pic. no, that wouldn't work on this. i'd end up with the bottles in the same place they are now... it's hard to explain how the cage is.

basically i need the bottles to be further forward... i need to try and get a pic...

I use a bicycle water bottle holder in bunny's mansion. It cost 99p at the 99p shop. It even came with a plastic water bottle (for humans not piggies). I got the idea from shrikopanik's old cage. You could attach it with cable ties or put a piece of wood on the outside to screw it to through the grid.

Hehe, I do all sorts of clever things with water bottles, don't I :))?

The water bottle stand is a wire kitchen roll holder with a cable tie to rest the spout on and then normally a rubber band to hold the bottle at the top (but it's sellotape on the picture because I had lost it then)

It's true! You have all sorts of ingenous solutions to water bottle problems. :(|)

some good ideas people! :))

i got that one off ebay. i take it it will be safe, it's metal i think... :{ probably should have checked before buying! :red

hope it works! if not, might try the kitchen roll holder, or just stop being so lazy and get some wood and get the drill out to sort it and attach it.

won't be for long hopefully as i am definitely building their c+c soon! i've got most of the things ready, just waiting until after the house inspection first. don't fancy having to take it all apart again and rebuild! (they don't know we have pets! :red:)))

excited aswell because i've completely cleared and tidied the bedroom so there's lots more space now so i've got some wipe clean mats, and am going to build a big run in there for ches and maisie to play in. better than the hall. so they will have that space in the day for a run around. x)

the water bottle holder off ebay came and it does the job very well! :) ches used that bottle straight away because it's further forward which is good. i only got one though incase it wasn't right, which of course it was rolleyes so got to get another one now. :))
