Hi, we have 2 boys, 6.5 months. Both happy and healthy. Noticed a bony lump when cleaning the cage out, had some hair on it, couldn't work out what it was. Now one of the boys (same boy as same hair) has a bony lump attached to him but slowly coming off. I have read a thread about sebaceous glands but this is up by his shoulder and think s glands are around the rear. He is very happy in himself, eating drinking etc, just hoping someone might know what this is as doesn't seem to be a one off.
Yesterday I noticed something pus like on his back that had hardened and was wrapped in his fur. Wondering if they csn have sebaceous glands in other places. Will post some photos i took. Thanks in advance.

:wel:

The grease gland is just above their bottom, and no they don’t have one anywhere else.

The third and fourth pictures looks like it might be a lump of boar glue - dried semen. If that is what it is, then welcome to the world of teenage boars! It will dry rock hard and can either be cut out of the hair or left to fall out on its own

Thank you for the welcome and prompt reply- and eugh ! I think that could be what the second picture is! I thought it was some kind of pus and it has dried like glue so I thibk that's what it might be. I have 2 daughters and have these are the first boy GP s we've had so it wasn't my first thought!

The first lump does look painful and should probably be checked over by a vet. It looks like there is a sore underneath it, and that may need some treatment to prevent infection.
The second one definitely looks like boar glue - welcome to the fun world of teenage boys!
