Hi all, Vinnie is at the vets this morning we though with a simple dental as he was struggling to eat.
The vet has called he did have a spur but there was also a large cavity at the back of his mouth spanning down into his throat. She said it had brown dead tissue in so she thought it likely is a tumor and that it's down into the bone. She has woken him up but feels we will possibly need to make a decision soon. She did say they can refer him to a specialist but we have to weigh up his quality of life and how far this has progressed.

Does this sound like a grim prognosis or could it be a empty abscess? We have baytrill and metacam because he started with a head tilt and we as a bit wobbly on he feet at the start of the week which we thought was an ear infection.
Does anyone have any experience of jaw or mouth tumors?

I’m so very sorry. I’ve no experience of anything like this.

I am so sorry about your devastating news about poor little Vinnie

I’m so sorry you’ve had this diagnosis. I haven’t got any experience of this. A chat with a specialist might help. Good luck.

I am so sorry for this news.
I have had a piggy with a tumour behind her eye but in the jaw.
A terminal diagnosis kick starts the grieving process- be gentle with yourself.
Give him as many happy todays as possible and make as many good memories as you can.

Vinnie lost his fight on Wednesday this week he was an absolute trooper. We have just received a hand written card from the vets who knew Vinnie too well. We have been heart broken but there is also some relief he's no longer suffering.

Very sorry to hear this, what a gorgeous wee boy.

Take care of yourself x

I’m so sorry. Popcorn high at the bridge gorgeous Vinnie. Take care ❤️

So very sorry for your loss.
Even when you are expecting it, the sense of loss and shock are still there.
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve.

Thank you for your kind words Vinnie was very special to us. I think I thought I knew best and that it would be something he could pull through again, I had convinced myself he would be ok but he went down hill quickly and I tried hard to keep up to help him with round the clock feeds. The start of the week I knew there was no coming back from this for him. I just hope if there is an after life he has the best one ever because he deserves it. I'm having to schedule grieving time in when our little boy goes to bed or I get some alone time then I can think about Vinnie and have a cry. Guineas are total heart breakers I feel like I've said too many good byes.

He will be having the best time, I know it ❤️
Every one takes a little piece of your heart with them, don't they? But remember that just shows how much you loved them, and how much they loved you in return x
