Bone on chest? Plz reply

Hello everyone,
I’m just coming on here to ask for some advice and to see if anyone has any knowledge on this subject. One of my piggies I’ve noticed has a much more noticeable bone on her chest. I was scared it was a lump but after a good feel of it it feels like the side of her rib cage? But it’s almost in the middle of the chest and there’s only one of it. Causing no discomfort when touched. It definitely feels like bone. But when I examine the other piggies I can feel it as much as I can with her. Does anyone know what this is?

I meant to say I can’t feel the bone as much with the other piggies as I can with her!

Hi

You are most likely dealing with the beginnings of a lump. How large is it? Please have any lump vet checked, especially those that are not sitting loosely in the skin. There is a whole range of them; which is why they require a hands-on examination.

Hi thanks for your reply. I checked her again and I’m pretty positive it’s her rib cage it just seems to stick out more than the others! However I will probably get her checked anyways for peace of mind. Thank you xx

Keep an eye on it. If she feels bonier than she should, please check whether she may be a bit underweight or may have arthritis?

Thank you. I will do. She is the chunkiest of them all and hasn’t lost any weight recently. She’s only 5 months so I hope nothing like arthritis. It’s definitely some kind of bone and I’ve seen another thread on here saying her two guinea pigs have it? Not 100% sure though x
