I'm in the process of my bonding my two boys together, Smudge will be 3 in March and Bailey is 8 months. I've got them in the bathtub at the moment, and everything seems to be going well. Lots of rumbling, bum sniffing and mounting, they shared some kale and some carrot and seem quite fine with each other. What I wanted to know is when would it be fine to put them into their hutch together? It's completly neutral as it's a new hutch! There has been no aggression between them just dominace behaviour, they have been together for about an hour now and this is their second meeting. Not sure what to do next should I just put them in together or put them into their own cages then put them together again topmorrow? What do you all think?

Hiya! i bonded Ed n Zub early last year, and i had the same question its basically up to you, if theres been no agression and there isnt any sows nearby there hutch then any time would be ok, just watch them closely Ed moved in with Zub after 2 days i think but i cant remember lol x

its basically a waiting game you can put them together and hope and prey but you have got to watch like a hawk if any real fighting occurs split them up, dont give up complety though let them have run time together and see if things progress, good luck,

Thanks, I did split them up yesterday as Smudge was really beginning to annoy Bailey and he started teeth chattering at him. So i separated them but I'm going to put them together again at floor time today and see how it goes! Will keep you posted! :)

When I was bonding Sammy and Roo, I found that the length of time they could be together without annoying each other increased every session. First time they were fine for about 45 minutes, second they were together for well over an hour but then had to be separated because we were going out, third was over 2 hours....basically after that we put them in together every time anybody was available to watch them. Having an indoor cage helped a lot, as they could be in it together in a corner of the room while we got on with other things.
