Bonding

Hi,

We've had our skinny pig nearly 4 months now, she is with two Guinea pigs. They all get along ok except one of them like to chase her occasionally. My worry is that she is always alone, the 2 guineas sleep together but the skinny won't go near them. I have 3 beds in the cage, she will sometime lie in one but is often just huddled out in the open and runs if any of the others go near.

I thought they would be closer by now, I feel bad that she's always alone.
Is there anything I can do to help or is there a chance their bond will get stronger?

What you are seeing is quite common in trios - one can become a bit of an outsider, and she may also be the bottom ranking piggy. Provided they aren’t fighting, she isn’t being bullied and that she isn’t unhappy, then you don’t need to worry too much.
