I recently, meaning yesterday, bonded a very dominant pig with a spayed female about a month old.

well this morning he has a scratch on his nose, no bleeding and he doesn’t seem to mind it. The two are getting along as expected, only rumbling from my male. The female doesn’t seem bothered, follows him around and even eats and sleeps next to him.

they’re not hostile or aggressive to each other, but should I be worried ? He is a little close and personal, but backs off when she tells him she’s had enough. They seem to do very well together.

It may be a misplaced swipe that was intended to tell him to back off. I had it when my boys were in the first month of their teenage phase.

That’s what I was thinking. Because he doesn’t seem hostile or aggressive to her after it, and I know bonds can fall if injured, but he doesn’t seem to act affected by it, he’s actually settled down a lot since introducing them, I just want to make sure not to worry. She’s not aggressive at all. Just jumpy, but she is only a month old, and he’s 8 months. So lots of hormones and sniffing he’s doing !

here’s a better, more lit picture.
