Hello I need some tips for bonding with my G.P when I try to take lola out of her cage she trys to get away and she runs away but when I do her her and hold her she loves it so Idk how to make her not run away I have never dropped her or ever hurt her so idk why she is so scared can anyone help me with this problem.

I would use veggies and fruits to get them to come to you and trust you. They all have favorite veggies and fruits so find out what they like then make them like you more using food.

My Finn and Lara will only allow me to touch them and no one else. They run away when others try to pet them. My piggies know I love them more than others would.

@Brandon have a read of the Settling in guide found under Guinea Pig Guides. GP’s are prey animals and their instinct to take cover will always click in when you go to pick them up, especially new pets. Once on your lap they are usually fine and at ease.

If you own a tunnel you could wait for the guinea pig to enter the tunnel. Then, once that guinea pig has entered you would pick up the tunnel then gently take him or her out . Then start to feed the guinea pig its favorite vegetables and hopefully you will create a strong bond. This worked for me so hopefully it does for you.

When you interact with her always have a small piece of veg in your hand to offer her, she will then learn that the hand and you mean nice food! Best way to tame an animal is through its tummy 😆
