I have had my 2 sows for quite a long time now and they are definitely more confident but one of them is still very jumpy and rarely relaxes around me. Do you have any tips to make her more comfortable and relaxed with me? Thanks😄

Some piggies are just like that - naturally more nervous and will always be jumpy.
That’s certainly the case for my two. One is very confident and happy to be with me, but the other is never going to be one to enjoy human interaction.

The guides in this section may helP though. I know you say you’ve had them for a while, but sometimes going back to basics is a good thing!

Hi!
Here are a few tips for you:
If you have work to do or are just sitting down to relax, sit by their enclosure to make them more comfortable with your presence. You can also give them veggies while talking to them at the same time, which will ultimately lead them to associate your voice with happiness. You can also let them out for floor time and allow them to come up to you as they please. Whenever they come up to you, offer them a treat in return for their curiosity.
Please remember that guinea pigs are prey animals, and no matter how kind we are to them, we are still predators. It is their natural instinct to run and hide, but do not feel defeated when they do. I have had two of my current piglets since October of 2019. They will climb onto my lap and feel comfortable sleeping beside me but dislike being pet. I have learned to respect their personal space in return for their affection.
You have been given a very helpful link above, please do read it.
How large is their enclosure? ☺

My Luna is like that. I get her out for cuddles and if something moves/makes a small noise, she freaks. My dad sneezed once and she flew out of my hands. Almost lost in her in the garden once.
On the other hand, Nutmeg is so calm. She is the only girl out of 9 who I can touch in the hutch, and she doesn't even move.
Trixie and Bandit are will come to me, but only if I happen to have food.

Thank you so much! I will try those tips out today😍 and they live outdoors in a big hutch but they often come inside in a fenced area and they also have a secure runaround area outside👍

Yes, I have 2 amazing guinea pigs and Biscuit is quite calm and doesn't jump everywhere and I can touch her without her jumping but her sister Dandylion is exactly like luna! Once I put down a foldable enclosure in the garden before we got their runaround area and once she jumped over the top even though it was really high and another time she managed to squeeze her nose through a tiny gap a squeezed out!😅
