I have two piggies that came from the same place.
Iris is very shy & timid and Ivy is assertive & dominant. They have only been together 6-7 days now but bonding has started. Ivy will kick Iris out of the Hidy or nose bud when they are having veggies. Over then that they cool down & chill. Yesterday I had added a second Hidy a cardboard box & I think that started problems with the dominant one. She was purring a few times through out the night & Iris was whining. I don’t have major concerns but I do not want Ivy escalating to much so is this normal? When should I intervene? & how long will it take for them to bond because I have been woken up 3 times and I am tired 😂 I work 5:30 am shifts. Also, what time span do I know if the bonding isn’t gonna work or what signs? Thank you guys!

This kind of dominance is very normal for a new bonding. Ensure all hides have two exits but remove any hide which is causing any troubles.
The dominant piggy always has the pick of the best hides and food.

The high pitched whining is the correct response to dominance - literally telling the dominant piggy that she is no threat to her seniority.

Acceptance has occurred so you know the do like each other. However it takes around two weeks for them to fully form their hierarchy.

Thank you! I was nervous
