hi all, i pretty much cant take any more either emotionally or financially (i know its so bad, please dont shout at me :()

so basically onion looked so sad, he has been inside the whole time because i didnt want to put him out without a friend to cuddle up to (i have other threads on here about the whole 3 guinea saga!) so i e-mailed a lovely rescue who said that a baby would be perfect for him and that its really rare it goes wrong SOOO i got a baby (he is the cutest thing i have ever seen!) and paired them, onion is actually horrible i think, he chases him ALL the time, he is mounting him ALL the time, the poor baby is actually terrified :( i know its normal behaviour but when does it stop? when do i say no more, baby is sad?
its been about 24 hours now and every time onion sees the baby he jumps on him!
i cant take anymore crap, i have doubled everything and cant triple it, just cant afford to! i dont want a situation where i have to get a baby with this baby because onion wont accept him and he loves other piggies! I'm so fed up, i dont want them to be unhappy and i dont want to give onion away but i cant cope with him and i really am started to dis like him alot
when do i say enough is enough?
thanks for reading that SA!

When i introduced humphrey to baby winston i had them in an indoor cage so i could supervise them, the humping was horrible to watch and the first few days were the worst, but they settled and each day after there was less and less humping/dominating. It took about a week for them to bond, then they were inseparable.

If there has been no blood fights i really wouldn't worry too much they will settle down.

I didn't handle winston or humphrey for the first fortnight they were together to give them chance to settle without me interfering, this seemed to have worked quite well.

Distraction is a good idea too, lots and lots of hay in one corner of the cage or toilet roll tubes filled with veg and hay so they have to find it.

Girls arn't much better. Star has been in season the last couple of days, and as they are allowed free range in the living room Midnight and Twinkle have been outrunning her. But when trapped they give Star a quick squirt of wee.

If they are not fighting to draw blood you have to be patient.

Unfortuantly it depends on the boar....mine still hump silly even though they have been together two years and have a very strong bond! The joys of boar ownership :))

My boys still hump every now and then and they have been together there whole lives !
I'm sure it will stop one day it just depends on the piggie
Good luck though !

thanks guys x
they seemed a little more settled this evening, i will just wait and see, i feel a bit less stressed now, earlier i had just had enough, I'm not a quitter and we have done everything we can for him but if he doesnt bond with this baby then i will find him a new home where they have the skills and experience and choice to find him a friend, i think that is best all round as its causing SOOOO much stress here :(
thanks again for all the help, this place is fab! x

update! they are fine now! seem to be loving each other! YAY! my guinea saga is over and we can now just enjoy them! I'm so happy, i had really reached the end of my tether. thanks for all the advice from here, was amazing help x
