Hello, I want to bond my new young boar (13 or so weeks old) to my elder boar - 3 years old.

Is this the same as bonding two adult boars or should I do it differently? I'd like to make sure I do it right. :)

Thanks!

We bonded an older boar around the 5 year age mark with two baby girls in April after Bruce lost his wifepig :(
He's a hefty lad and the little ones were curious to him and Bruce was a little raucous but not aggressive thankfully - all done on neutral ground until we were happy to put them in the pen together. They get along fab despite the girls tried to rule the roost when they hit 3 months but Bruce showed them who's boss pig and we've never had a problem since :)
Good luck, always a nerve racking time.

Thank you so much. I'm glad it worked out for you. :)

I'm going to try and bond them in the living room. Gilbert has been everywhere in my house but the guineapig room is the main room so hopefully it won't be a problem. I plan to put a block down the middle so they can see one another but not get to one another. Then I will pull it up after an hour or so so they are in the same cage with a big plate of Veg. Depending on how they get on I will clean out Gilbert's cage and try to bond them together in there. :)

Best bond them somewhere that is wipeable! Neutral ground just means outside of their normal territory; it doesn't mean necessarily a completely new place.

At this time of the year, I find the lawn the ideal spot; if you have access to an outside run.

Then the bathroom may be a good spot or the hallway as both have wipeable floors. :)

The bathroom is where I introduced my baby boy to my then teenage boy! They had been living in cages side-by-side for 2 weeks first. Good luck, I so hope this goes well.
