Hi

I have a newly bonded pair of boars in an indoor cage. I am getting another single boar tomorrow who is being housed in a separate indoor cage above the pair.

Will this affect their bond at all? Will another boar close by cause problems?

Also, they will be exercised in the same area but at different times. Will the scent of another boar cause problems?

No, it is only bonded boars in line of sight/pheromones of sows that is a problem; anything else isn't. Are you going to keep that boar single or you planning to bond him?

If he is to stay single, he would need interaction through the bars with other guinea pigs; this can be either gender.

It will be fine. I had two bonded pairs of boars beside one another, the cages only had CC grids blocking one another and they often slept by one another. :)

Thanks. I am planning on bonding him to another single boar. He's around a year old so I was thinking about waiting until he's around 15 months before bonding because of his hormones. He split up with another boar because he's dominant.
