Hi every one i am hoping someone can help me. Today whilst doing my guinea pig weekly health checks i noticed on one of my girls, Lily, they had a small bold patch near the bottom of her back. Lilly is an fairly older guinea pig she is 4 years old she was rehomed with about the end of November. Lilly was an outdoor guinea pig about her whole life until she came with us, i am not sure if that information is helpful or not. This was her first in proper health check with me as she very scared at first and now has got a lot tamer. the skin is not red or inflamed or flaky so i am not sure what to think

Please have her vet checked. There are many reasons why piggies get bald patches so we would only be guessing -the causes can range from parasites, fungal infections to hormonal hair loss due to ovarian cysts. It doesn’t look sore and irritated though which is good but it’s still worth having a vet look her over, particularly as you haven’t had her long
