It was only a matter of time with the hay monster!
He actually had a piece of hay inside his eye that I managed to remove last night. Typically he had done it on a Sunday when our vet is closed.

We have seen the vet today. As you can see from the dye, it’s left a scratch in his eye. We’ve got to administer antibiotic drops twice a day and he’s booked in for a check up next week.
He’s absolutely fine in himself 💕

Aw, poor Bobby, but I'm sure his eye will be fine once the drops start working. It always seems to be the weekend doesn't it - my Winifred had her haypoke on a Saturday
Did your vet give you the lubricating gel as well? (Ours prescribed Remend in addition to the Isathal)
They did. I’m already stocked up on metacam, but they said to only give it to him if he’s still not opening his eye properly. But he’s seems to be doing fine! :)

OUCH!

All the best with the healing process. Keep up with the drops. A scratch should heal quickly.

Thank you all. He’s much better this evening than he was last night, so hopefully he will be on the mend in no time 🤞🏻💕

Good you managed to get him seen so quickly. Hopefully it'll be sorted soon.

Last year Meg had haypoke so bad it was the big guns Chloramphenicol for her as well as Remend and Viscotears and it took 8 weeks to clear it. At least I managed to save her eye.

Sorry to hear that, well done saving her eye!

The vet says she isn’t overly worried about Bobby’s but to give them a call back if I’m worried about anything. He was feeling a bit sorry for himself last night, but today is much better. The eye wasn’t fully open last night and this morning, but since starting his drops it’s fully open, and he seems much happier 🤞🏻

He says thank you to the ladies!

He seems much better today. Back to his pop-corning, attention seeking self. Though he wasn’t best impressed about more eye drops this morning 🙈😂xx
Glad he’s seeming better already, he’s missed out on a whole day, he’s got to make up for it! :D:wub:
Bouncing beasts aren’t the easiest with eye drops though, hope he’s not too naughty and you can get them in without more pokes! :)) xx

Bobby was signed off by the vet yesterday and has finished his eye drops. The eye is fully healed (pic in my Bradshaw family thread).

But I do think it may take a while to regain his trust (after the eye drop chaos) 😂🥰🥰
