I have 4 boars that until recently have been getting along fine. I have two brothers that are two years old and have had to separate them in a double tiered hutch because they keep teeth chattering at each other and mounting and chasing each other around the hutch. In a spare cage I have I've had to put the two younger boars. One is one of the brothers sons who had been sat up on the top of the hutch all on his own for the past couple of days. I just noticed today that he has a small patch of hair missing above his eye so I moved him into a cage away from the other guineas. He is nearly a year old and is currently munching on a carrot with our youngest boar who is very timid and shy. He was getting chased around by the other boars so I separated him too. So currently I have two boars getting along fine in a temporary cage until I get my c and c grids and really don't know what to do with these other two as they are being very dominant at the moment.

Sounds two's company which can sadly be the case with some boars they don't like one friend let alone three. The younger ones will be hormonal at the moment which can set off friction between them all. Thing may calm down, how big was the hutch?

Off the top of my head I don't know the dimensions and currently it's too dark to measure it. It definitely isn't as big as I'd like it to be for my boys to run around and so I am getting some grids that will hopefully be here next week.

A quartet of boars is probably the most unstable of boar bonding and the teenage months the worst time for boars. Space is very important with boars, as is character compatibility.

Please keep an eye on the eye patch; it could be the beginnings of fungal or ringworm - that can hit with an immune system that is lowered by stress. If it gets bigger/bloody, please see a vet and post in our health/illness section.

The four having been getting on perfectly fine four the past half a year and we specifically chose the fourth boar to be quieter than the others and therefore not cause problems. The younger ones do not really seem to be the ones causing the problems and instead the older ones picking a fight.
The fur near his eye I think is just where he has been nipped at. I will attach a picture soon.
