Hello all
Can anyone advise help me?
I currently have 2 un-neutered boars (approx 20 months old), and have been asked to take a single sow.
She will be in her own cage across the room from the boys.
Could it cause the boys to argue if they can smell a sow?
Thank you

Across the room should be perfectly OK. Your boys are now over the worst of their hormones/potential fall outs anyway.

You may wish to find your new sow a same sex friend or neutered boar in the long run, as she will be lonely.

this will be fine, i've recently had a pair of boys in the same room as a pair of girls as they were boarding.
The only thing is you need to keep all there things seperate as i tried putting the boys in the indoor run after the girls had been there and they went crazy mounting each other so as long as you clean up after each of them you'll be fine.

Like said above, a friend for the girl would be a good idea so she doesn't get lonely !

Thank you for your answers.
I was trying to be good, and not take on any more animals but........ ;)
Thanks again

Yep definitely don't put the boys in the run after the girls, I made this mistake .. !

It just set the boys off and George wouldn't leave Terry alone. Had to separate them for the evening but fine the next day. There had been a lot of girls in the run so it was an overload I think!

Always treat the boys first before the girls (run time, lap time, grooming bathing etc.), so they don't get the girls' scent and make sure that you don't mix up their bedding either! ;)
