New Born Pup
Over the past while two of my boars have been fighting a lot, but because I still see them cuddling together a lot as well I was advised to leave them together unless they drew blood. After a couple months of on and off fighting, I’ve noticed a couple scabs on one of them so I think it’s time to separate them.
I was thinking of trying to bond the more submissive of the two to two of my other boars. I have a piggy I only recently figured out was a boy, and next week him and his son will be moving in together. The father is a fairly laid back piggy, and the baby is a baby, so I thought this might be an easy bond to form, if I have enough space. But I’ve been reading more about boar trios and it says they should all be over a year old before you put them in a trio. Does anyone have any advice or input?
Basically my only options are to have the two boys in separate side by side 2x3 cages, which I would feel bad because that’s small and they’d be alone, try to bond them to my other piggies, which I know could potentially land me with more single piggies, or rehome them, which would break my heart and I’d always worry about whether or not they were being taken care of properly.
