Hey guys, Just took my little boar to the vet right now cause he has not been eating since a week now. We syringe feed him every hour with critical care and some water but he only takes like 0.3-0.4 ml of food and water and spits out rest. We have given him meloxicam 0.1 ml everyday with some poop soup from the healthy piggy. We have also tried giving him some gripe water to help with his stomach. He is not pooping anymore. The vet has no idea what to do with him. He literally didn't even held my piggy to assess him and just gave me some medicine to give to him. Can you guys please tell me if it is safe to give my piggy these medicines cause not even the vet was sure about it.

I can’t say whether they are safe to give, but it looks like a probiotic, not medicine.
I know how hard it is for you to get a knowledgeable vet, but a gut stimulant medication is likely what is needed.

Make sure you weigh him daily.
You will need to keep going with the syringe feeding, as much as he will take at each sitting and as many sittings as is needed to keep his weight stable each day.

I am so very sorry that you have such a worrying time. These things looks like digestive aids to boost the gut bacteria to me; they are not medication.

All you can do is hang in there, hope for the best and brace for the worst. Especially with it coming right on the heels of another unexpected loss, it is a dark and lonely place to be. Keep on feeding for as long as he will take a little food. If it is coming straight back out, then he is struggling with swallowing, either from weakness or from having a problem with it.

HUGS
