hello,

as some of you know i have two boy piggies both about 4 months old. Teddy the bigger one always humps muffin the smaller one. i read on the sticky thread about boars, that humping is a sign of dominance. this is fine as there are know scraps or cuts on them etc. however last night Teddy humped Muffin's face and put boy goo on it! i spent half an hour washing it off Muffins face. it sets like concrete! whilst it was quite funny i would like to know if this is likely to happen again and if so what is the quickest way to get the goo off! i ended up using an electric toothbrush head to try and brush the goo off Muffins face! obviously i won't be using this on my teeth! xx>>>

i have had boys piggies when i was younger and this has never happened before!

This will probably happen again and agin. Two hormonal boys will take out their urges on each other and 'emissions' are inevitable. As long as they are not fighting then they are just doing what boy piggies do. My girls do the same if thats any consolation. When they take the urge, they dont seem to mind what end of the piggies they hump. Often it is the wrong end that the piggie focuses his attentions on! Silly boys. I wouldnt worry too much about it unless things turn aggressive!

I have had the same problem with Nerys' face - and Llewelyn is a neutered boar...

Unfortunately, they are not exactly choosey which way round to they go!

thanks guys,

its good to know its not just my guinea pigs that do that! is there an easy way to remove it? i carefully washed muffins face with a bit of my just for boars shampoo but I'm wondering if its worth getting the small animal wipes from pets at home as i don't like getting soap near his eyes.

do you think it would be advisable to get a small comb to brush it out, as brushes dont seem to work that well. :)

Keep the electric toothbrush for your own use, the pig will come to no harm if you leave him alone.

Shouldn't laugh but that part made me howl! :(|)

Think it is the cute names that made it funnier!

Didn't realise pigs did that, hope I don't have this in store! :...
