Coco (Cinnamons baby) (nearly 4 week old)
has put some 'boar glue' on willow, I picked it off of course, but is it white and looked like dried claggy glue?
Just to make sure it was boar glue!

I would separate him immediately - i always thought baby boys had to be separated from any females at 3wks old (i know when my sow gave birth to a boy and girl i removed the boy at nearly 3wks old as he was trying to mount mum and sister and the possibility of mum getting pregnant again were too great for my liking).

Ive experienced boar glue and couldn't get it off my sow - it kinda looked like shampoo foam but was really hard to touch - i had to cut it out her fur as pulling it was not only impossible but i could imagine would have been just painful.

Willow is a boy (sorry its sounds like a girl name :p)

lucky we separated them 2 days ago from their mum and sister!

It IS boar glue, and he sounds very much like an early starter! :) Good that you have separated them.

I know that three weeks separation time sound very early when the boys are still suckling, but compared to other rodents, piggies are far more developed when they are born so they can keep up with the roaming herd. Guinea pigs have to make up for the longer pregnancies and fewer babies due to their roaming life style by not losing any time whatsoever in starting a pregnancy!

lol :)

I tried to be as soft as possible getting it off,

More to come? Oh great lol, but it was my decision to keep the males kehehe

lol i feel a bit silly now for making assumptions :red

I don't think it matters whether the piggy has a 'boys' name or 'girls' name - so long as it suits the individual piggie ;)

My eldest sow's name is JJ (she was a pet shop piggie that was sold to me as a 'boy') - the name JJ suited ''him'' very much and when we found out he was actually a she, we were looking into changing her name to something more feminine - but somehow JJ really suits her - plus she answers to the name JJ rolleyes
