My boar has some boar glue stuck right next to/on his grease gland.
It’s kind of hard reach so I don’t want to potentially hurt him by trying to cut it but I am also worried that it will cause him issues with his grease gland.

What is my best option?
P.S - The little clear blob is the semen and the grease around it is his. He was needed in for his yearly bath soon, but I doubt coconut oil would help much anyway.

I don't think it will cause a problem and will sort itself in a day or two. If it's too close to the skin to cut off I always leave it until it either grows out enough to cut or drops off. Nothing will melt boar glue the only way to get rid of it is to cut it out. One of my cage liners had a blob dried into it, it was washed dozens of times until one day I saw Timmy biting or pulling at something on the fleece, by the time I got across the room to see what he was doing he'd pulled the blob off and torn a hole in the fleece!

Oh no! That’s happened to me before, I use bobble mats and he ripped a bobble straight out

I’ll just keep an eye on it as it doesn’t seem to be causing an issue. Thanks!

It's Timmy's mission to get the bobbles out of the mats. I have some cheap mats from Poundland, the bobbles are just pushed through the backing so I have to be careful not to put those in his cage. The slightly more expensive ones are much better made, he hasn't managed to get a bobble out of those yet!

Did someone mention boar glue?

I’d just keep an eye on it but it’ll likely go of its own accord in a few days or so. My Ted ended up with a bare nose scratching off boar glue

Poor buddy, he looks so concerned 😂

I’ve managed to cut most of it off and he’s had a bum bath for his grease gland anyway and he’s much cleaner now.
