Hi Folks

Can anyone give me some advise we had 2 boys that lived together in a huge cage with only the very occasional quible but when we got our 3rd boy the older 2 kept trying to mount him we thought as he was young they thought he was female. The other 2 then had a massive fight and had to split them up that was nearly 2 years ago and have never been back in together. The older 2 are 3 the other one is 2 I would love to have them all in together so we can get them one huge cage again instead of 3 big cages as I am struggling for room. They do all meet up now and again when we let them run around together but have to keep an eye on them as they have a habit of chasing after each other.

Many thanks

Steven

When we introduced Billy to our two boars, though it may sound disgusting, we rubbed their scent all over him. We rubbed our hands on their scent glands then rubbed our hands all over Billy.
By making them smell like the most dominant of your three boars it can help as already they all smell like one.

Hi Steven. It is not a good idea to have three boys living together. Two is better as with boys they will fight non stop with a third.

Hi!

Please be aware that boars that have fallen out will often not go back together and generally rather have each their own territory. The best you can achieve is that they may tolerate each other during run time on neutral territory if they are somewhat laid back, but brace yourself that even that will not work for all boars and that they always need to be strictly supervised while they are together.

Adding a third boar to an existing couple can unfortunately end you up with an all singles cast; that is the reason why we do not recommend to try and add a third piggy to a couple. Trios fail far more often than they work out, especially in the case of subadult piggies. In all boar bondings, the balance of characters needs to be just right to make a boar bond work; that is naturally even harder to achieve in a trio than in a couple! With all the tricks in the world you cannot get boars to live in a long term stable relationship with each other that are not character compatible.
