Good morning everyone!

I've bought a bluebell hutch for summer accommodation but I'm concerned about how fox proof the wire mesh will be. I've added lots more staples to fix the wire to the wood so it is all firmly attached but I'm worried about the wire itself.

Any thoughts gratefully received! Thanks everyone.

We just added an extra catch to make sure the doors were firmly shut and cover over at night. We have foxes and this has worked well.

Thank you so much, I'll do the same.

I put some carpet on the ramp as it gives it more grip. To encourage your piggies to use the ramp, put your piggies in the bottom of the hutch and pop the carpet covered ramp down the bottom and let them run up and down it scent marking it (you may find a tasty treat encourages them onto the ramp if they are reluctant) piggies tend to follow scent trails then they know that places are safe.

Having read the reviews about rain coming in and warped wood after a short time. I'm surprised it's still on sale.

The first hutch I bought was from Pets at Home and they don't sell it anymore. It was complete rubbish. It had a run underneath with open sides and the first winter I blocked the ground floor off. The second winter I had to put a false floor on it and cover up the open sides. It rotted and the back which was only MDF went all soggy and horrible and mouldy. As soon as I could I afford a decent hutch (I have a Chartwell 6' double hutch now) I did. I am well impressed with it and it has a proper wooden back, has seen my piggies through 2 winters and is as good as new.
