Bekialice
Junior Guinea Pig
Hiya,
We have a 6 year old female who bleeds every few months.
I don't know if it's from her ovaries/bladder/bum but it's drops of bright red blood that clears up again a few days later.
She's in no pain and doesn't even seem to notice. Eating is fine and she's not in noticable pain when she poops or pees.
We've taken her to the vets about it on three separate occasions and the vets always put her on antibiotics and say it will clear up. It does clear up but I think it does on its own rather than anything to do with antibiotics.
She's just started again, after not bleeding for 6 months. I don't want another wasted trip to the vet where they charge me £40 and fob me off with metacam.
It is an exotic cavy savvy vet, there are no better ones in the area and it is RSPCA recommended so that's not the issue.
I just want to know what to press the vet to check for when I take her.
Has anyone had this before?
Thanks,
Beki
