Blood tests

Hello lovely people. Does anyone have a Surrey based vet that doesn’t cost the earth? I have been quoted for our piggy to have bloods taken and it just seems a crazy amount of money. We recently lost his little buddy very suddenly and ended up spending nearly £500 in total on trying to save him and whilst I am fully into doing anything for these beautiful creatures I am now at a point where it will become impossible to keep paying out for large bills. Any recommendations would be gratefully received. I have attached the quote in case anyone would be able to take a look and see if they think it’s expensive. Many thanks

I am sorry to hear of your loss.
Blood tests are generally quite expensive in any vets due to difficulty of the procedure on such a small animal. I have been quoted £200 for a blood test, but thankfully we did not need it.

I am very sorry for your loss and that that you have another poorly piggy I’ve never had blood tests done but I do believe they are expensive. I hope you can find a vet from our recommended list who can do them cheaper than what you’ve been quoted from your current vet. All the best x

I am sorry to hear you have lost one of your guinea pigs. Tests requiring sedation are very expensive, the quote you received is about the same as my vets charge.

Thank you and for the comparison of fees. I don’t think they are ripping us off as we have been with them for years and I trust them but everything just keeps going up so much.
