I have just finished my first C&C cage. It did take several hours and I still need to make a ramp to get to the second floor but I have finished my 2 x 4 cage. Am very pleased and the boys are even more pleased. Can't believe how much more space they have. Am chuffed that I made the effort they are loving it.

I think I defo can have a glass of wine tonight for all the efforts.

Any advice on how people have made ramps will be appreciated. My only idea so far is buying some guttering type material and lining it with carpet.

:(|)

Well done! Great that your boys are happy too.

I have bent some of the mesh grids to make a ramp, then lined it with correx and put a towel on it for grip.

Well done you and i camt wait to see the pics!

I too used some grids for the ramp and lined it with carpet that i change when its gets dirty.

:)

Love the c&c cage! Where can you buy it? Would be a good option for me as my boys live apart

Well done and i think you do deserve a glass of wine (or two!) :) Cant wait to see pics :)

Thanks for idea of ramp, that will be tomorrows project!

I bought the cubes for my cage off ebay and the correx of teacrate packaging. ordered both on wed night and they had arrived by 9.00am this morning. Am more than impressed. If you want links let me know.

So worth it, they have so much more room. Will get some picks once I have made the ramp.

Wine in hand now! good times :))

Hi
I'm looking into making one at the moment, i saw a pack of 23 grids on B & q website for £22.49 but its out of stock everywhere, how many did you need for yours? ive seen them on ebay and i think there in packs of 16, would i need to buy 2 packs? it seems to be working out really expensive for 2 packs with the postage.
Thankyou x

Hi

I bought my grids off ebay. I did buy 2 packs for mine. I only have two grids left over after making a ramp and hay loft etc. I paid about £31.00 for 2 packs and postage. They seemed to be the cheapest at the time that I was looking. There was 16 grids in each pack. I then bought the correx from teacrate packaging.

www.teacratepackaging.co.uk/

Hope this helps.

Let me know if you need any more help. :)

Hi
ive had a look on teacrate Is the Correx black? it only showed up one product up when i typed it in, and how many sheets did you buy? i think it was £4.95 plus £6.00 postage?
Thanks

Yeah thats the one, think it only comes in black. I bought two sheets and doubled my base. You could get away with one sheet. Best to get two sheets if you are creating a loft. If you put GUINEA in where it says voucher code you get 10% off. They deliver really fast, I was impressed. :)

Thanks,
Ive been looking on ebay and have found various sellers, not much difference in price, most of the sellers say they are made from metal but one is saying its made from metal coated in plastic, which is chew proof? and this seller is showing pictures for them set up for Guinea and Rabbits, do you think it makes any difference weather there metal or plastic coated, wouldnt want them to be ill or anythink from chewing something they shouldnt. Thankyou x

Mine is coated, defo chew proof. Jenson seems to enjoy trying to chomp the bars but after checking there is no danger to him.

Let me know how you get on. I am really pleased I made one, loads of room and they love it.

Thanks so much for all your advice, I'm going to order the plastic coated ones tomorrow, ive got the wheek off next wheek so will have some spare time, best order some cable ties too. Ive passed a home check from the RSPCA and I'm getting Chesney in 2 weeks time, so thought i could put them both in together as my girl is quite bossy and it will be neuteral ground, hopefully! she is quite a madam! i hope Chesney is ready to be told what to do! lol. x
