Hi TGPF, recently we've heard our youngest Boar, Walker, making some light squeaking noises when he was either weeing or pooping - We've got an appointment for a specialist vet tomorrow morning, but just wanted to scope early on TGPF to see what people's opinions were.

For a few days now we've heard Walker sporadically squeaking (The noise is hard to describe - Like a high pitched grunt?) when peeing / pooping, and as a result we checked his penis - It was dirty, covered in smegma, however after cleaning the penis fully, these noises persisted.

Today we noticed it again after feeding them their lunch (Which included red bell pepper), so we decided to pull Walker out of the cage and onto a spare doggy pee-pad to observe the staining of his urine. We noticed in nearly every instance, there was a reddish tinge to the urine stains, which I've photographed and attached. His penis and anus both looked fine today after checking, and we couldn't see any signs of injury or abscessing. Other than this, he has been eating and drinking fine, behaving fine, and has been consistent with his weight.

What are your thoughts TGPF?

For reference, this is similar (Not identical) to the noise Walker made - Perhaps a bit more quiet and way less frequent? Perhaps once a week?

Hi, it looks like he *could* have a bit of blood in his urine although it’s difficult to say as puppy pads can change the colour of the urine due to the chemicals used in the puppy pads but it’s good you’re getting him checked over at the vets especially if he is making painful noises when toileting

Hiya there - Thanks for the response; we did consider this after posting and got him to pee on a plain, white, clean T-Shirt, which had no red tinge in it - It should also be noted that he didn't make the same noise, it was much more quiet, but we're unsure if that was just regular 'peeing' noises

They shouldn’t make any noise at all when peeing.
In the early stages of a UTI the urine can have a tinge of colour that is not drops of blood.
Essentially if there is any change in noise or colour or behaviour it’s worth getting a vet to check him over.
