Blood in tunnel?

So we’ve just finished lap time and we were packing up the boys play pen when I saw some browny-red marks on the edge of their tunnel, I checked inside and found some more, is this blood? I didn’t see any wounds on them but I don’t know if it’s where there was pee and I don’t know if they would have peed at the edge of the tunnel? I also don’t know which boy they have come from... they both seem absolutely fine, eating, drinking, pooping, they’ve been popcorning and zooming all day, I’m just very worried about these marks.

... oh... well now I feel stupid... they had red pepper in there my piggie mum brain just went into overdrive and completely forgot about that... sorry

It’s OK. Confession time. how did I work that out so quickly? Because when I was shaking out a bath mat earlier I also found similar under where a tunnel has been. And after checking three of them I’ve I remembered that they had a really juicy red pepper this morning. Phew!

Lol I did this earlier too saw red mush smeared in the food bowl and was grabbing all the piggies checking their mouths and front paws... red pepper mush
It was a really juicy pepper, I bought a bag of "(I'm)perfectly tasty peppers" from sainsbury that were actually really perfect because they were a bit smaller so 1 pepper 1 piggy feed no leftovers... but yes the red pepper mush terror lol only overtaken by the "beetroot wound alarm" when I scatterfeed a bistro salad with grated beetroot and one of the white long haired pigs gets a bit stuck in their fur that looks like a horrific gash...!

Mine also had a chunk of raw beetroot today. Must make a mental note not to panic as the wee and poop get a purple tinge....

No it certainly is not just you. Even after years of keeping piggies we all have heart stopping moments when they fool us.
