I hope that I’m following the rules by also posting about a possible UTI infection here, instead of starting a new thread. So yesterday I fed my guinea pigs one new vegetable, and one slightly new vegetable which was broccoli and red bell pepper. This morning I noticed that one pee spot in their bedding was darker than the rest and I have pictures. Could you let me know if I should take them to see a vet or if the dis-coloration is due to red bell peppers.

I have moved your post to its own thread. It’s always better to start your own thread (one thread per health matter so that we can give ongoing advice) rather than posting on someone else’s.

Some veg can discolour pee but also urine oxidises (turns a rusty colour when it comes in contact with the air). Only a vet can diagnose a UTI, so do have your piggy seen if your piggy appears to be in pain when peeing
