New Born Pup
Hi,
Recently my piggy Cookie has had troubles weeing. She's squeaking in pain most pees and her coat is somewhat puffed up. It was a suspected UTI and she's currently being treated with enrofloxacin twice a day. We started her treatment for a week, then stopped the next week, then continued again for about 5 days up to today. Just yesterday I saw her actively pee blood and it scared me to death and I'm not even sure that this is the first time this happened because this was the only time I've seen it happen in front of me The bedding that we use is harder to track for blood. We haven't done an x-ray for bladder stones yet. I'm worried this might be the case... How long does it take for antibiotics to work and how can you tell that it's working? Should we have her checked for bladder stones/Is there a way to know without having to take an x-ray? Also, I've been reading a lot about this and heard that females can pass bladder stones on their own better than males (Cookie is a female). Other than her peeing problems, she's been eating and drinking normally.
I am quite literally worried to death about poor Cookie she's 4 years old already. Please let me know ASAP if you have any advice for us. I hate seeing my piggy in pain...
Thanks in advance!
