Junior Guinea Pig
I have just had one of my pigs on my lap for a cuddle. He'd done a couple of wee's which are red like blood but he didn't make any sounds like he was in pain.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

He's had some romaine and parsley today. He's not eaten his pepper. Not every piggy cried out when it has got a cystitis. But some veggies can lead to redish wees as well.
What have you feed recently?
Do you notice any other symptoms? Weight loss?

Have you already seen a vet who prescribed the cystophan?
6 days. Half a capsule.Don’t forget we only consider weight loss when it hits 50g - 10g since yesterday is just normal fluctuation at this point.
Monitor for signs of weight loss, pain and consistent symptoms (early stages don’t always produce consistent symptoms). Then do see the vet.
How long has he been on the cystophan? It takes few weeks to build up.
What dosage is he on?
Make sure you don’t feed parsley often - it’s too high in calcium.
I would give parsley as a treat, once a week. Mine have coriander daily.6 days. Half a capsule.
How often would you feed parsley?

When did the blood /pink wees start? Has he been seen by a vet?
Ok, I need to give it time. It’s going to take a few weeks to build up in the system.
Parsley, (spinach, kale also) are foods which should be given in very small amounts and no more than once a week.
Mine also have coriander daily
