Blocking the couch

The room I keep my guinea pigs in is large and good for floor time, but the one issue I have is I'm not sure how best to keep the guinea pigs from going under the couch. I need to block it off with something, but I don't think I have anything ideal lying around to cover the gap. I want to make sure that whatever I use to block it can't fall back on top of the guinea pigs if they push too hard on the bottom. Does anyone else have any tricks for this?

Cardboard. I used to use old jigsaw puzzle boxes, but any sort of cardboard works.

I block off half of a room with c&c grids. If you had enough you could sit them right round it.

I use old t-shirt rags to stuff in places where I don't want him to go.
