Hi everyone. I'm a new GP owner and I think one of them has bloat? The vets are all closed right now and I'm not even sure it is bloat? Hes been acting normal eating, I think but I'm still getting used to them. Hes been flicking me away when i try to massage his belly as it seems bigger than his brothers.

Can anyone show me pictures or anything I should do to see if it is bloat?

Its 1am here atm and the emergency vet closed at 11pm. I just checked on him and he was eating his hay.

Okay. Call the vets first thing in the morning and try to get him an appointment.

Are you UK based? If so then all vets have to arrange vet access 24/7 through an emergency service.

The fact that he's eating would lead me to think that it's not bloat but obviously I cannot see and examine your piggy and given that bloat can quickly become fatal it is always worth having them checked.

Guinea pigs come in all shapes and sizes just like humans do and many of them don't like to have their bellies touched in my experience. I have had 11 piggies over the years and not a single one has let me touch their belly without trying to kick me away
