So on Friday I noticed that Toast was slightly bloated, her belly was a bit hard and she wasn't pooing very much. I phoned the vet so see if I should give her Emeprid (as I did last time she was bloated) but he said to give her Infacol instead for the first few days, then if it doesn't clear I've to bring Toast in to be seen.

On Sunday, I noticed she looked much less bloated, her stomach felt softer and her poos very almost back to normal, although still slightly soft.

On Monday her poos were looking a bit more normal, but as they were still quite soft I took her off fresh veg for one day.

This morning when I got up, I've noticed they're back to being softer again...

I'm not not sure what's going on, shes not in any way acting odd, not off her food, she's running about with Beans during floor time and eating plenty of hay. Her stomach doesn't feel hard anymore so why would her poos not be back to normal by now?

(Sorry for all the poo talk..)

Start keeping a food diary, see if you can see if it is happening after any particular food. We had to do this with treacle as she would bloat after certain veg which she could previously eat.... Our vet gave us emeprid and Zantac. We used to take her off fresh veg until her poo's were back to normal.

It takes a while for tummies to fully settle, also you need to be careful she doesn't have another bloats episode as soon as she goes back on veg.

Good news she is eating lots of hay!

I would get her back to vet also

Y:agr: with @sport_billy -that's exactly what I did with Connie. We found it was even the tiniest amount of broccoli that was the problem (and huge amounts of grass when she'd been out mowing the lawn)

Thank you @sport_billy that's a good idea actually, she's had bloat quite a few times now.
I was thinking about getting her into the vets today, but her stomach is definitely much less hard than on Friday and her pooing is almost normal again after having a lot of floor time and tummy massages, so I don't think it's something that needs seen to as an emergency? (Please correct me if I'm wrong)
She's zooming about and eating her nuggets like she's never ate before.:P

And @VickiA I think grass is maybe and issue for Toast also, and possibly cabbage. I gave her a little bit for the first time the other day around the time she began to feel bloated.

@Beans&Toast i had to limit Connie to max 20 mins on grass (such a shame) as she just would not stop eating it and it definitely made her bloaty. Cabbage was also a no-no for her. Are you reducing their veg when they have had grass? Grass counts towards their veg quota so you have to give them a miserly looking tea if they have been eating grass.
With bloat, it's likely that once a piggy has had it they will have a tendency towards it, so you have to find the triggers as best you can and then try to avoid.

I didn't actually realise I should cut down on the veg, I assumed grass was like hay..
Stupid mistake! It's strange though, Beans has never once had bloat, but I'm convinced she has guts of steel, she can and will eat anything
I have, however, cut down Toasts veg now, she had nothing yesterday and this morning she had a very small amount due to her poos being slightly soft.

I have an appointment on Friday for Toast anyway, would this be too long to have her seen regarding the bloat? I would have made one asap if after a few days she showed no sign of improvement but she's much better, pooing normal amounts now after hardly anything over the weekend. Sometimes I feel like I rush to the vets over nothing so I didn't want to do that with this.. :hmm:
