Does anyone use/have used this? It's a horse bedding made from rape straw I believe. I have used it in the past but I am struggling to remember what it was like - only our local supplier store is closing down on the 9th of this month, so we are limited on what beddings we can now buy. :(

I used it for about 2 wks. It was OK as a bedding. But 1 day I noticed a piece of bliss had got stuck inside my boars man bits. The bliss when to the rubbish tip that day

The only thing with straw is that it holds odours a lot more than other types of bedding so can end up very smelly very quickly :)

Thank you both, I only have sows so hopefully that wouldn't be an issue. I would still like a bit more input before I make my mind up to buy a bag again.. I just want them off woodshavings!

I use finacard for my rats hamsters and piggy litter trays and love it No dust and low odour.17 kilos for 15 quid I think and that includes delivery.

I have used Aubiose which is another hemp based bedding. However, I do find it a bit prickly so now only put Aubiose in their litter trays which I cover with a layer of fleece so the guinea pigs don't have direct contact with it. The other thing that put me off using Aubiose in their main area was that my guinea pigs were taking their veggies out of their food dish and eating them on the ground and their veggies were getting covered with Aubiose.

I would be wary of using Bliss as I notice the website says it is treated with Trus-STEED Stable Guard disinfectant. If your guinea pigs eat the same way as mine, they are bound to ingest some Bliss and am not sure if this disinfectant would be good for them .

This is exactly my concern, I did email Bliss in the past about this dis-infectant and they assured me that it was a natural product and is harmless to guinea pigs and other small rodents. If I remember rightly the bedding did smell a bit....

I have been considering Aubiose but I can't seem to find a local / near supplier. I am literally stuck with woodshavings or bliss, although the place where we get our hay from sells bedding so will ask next time we go. I don't fancy paying online prices as it doesn't last, we have a 32L litter tray for our rabbits which needs cleaning every 2 days aswell!

... I'm afraid it can be quite pricey when you add delivery charges to it. I'm lucky as there is an equine suppliers a 20 min drive away from me.

If I were you, I would google equine suppliers just to see if there is one in your vicinity that can get it in. It would also be worth asking any local pet shops whether they can get it in (I have heard that the Kennelgate chain now stock it) . We have a horsey shop in our home town who can get it in but the bloke who runs it is so grumpy - I'd sooner drive the 20 min drive and get it from the equine suppliers.

I assume you have looked at the suppliers on the website ...

I am still undecided about which bedding I prefer and am using Fitch, fleece and Aubiose (under fleece) at the moment

This is a good thread ...
