My 4 month old guinea pig suddenly started bleeding from anus after pooping, there is no blood in urine or neither is there a bloodied poop, its just small amounts of blood stuck to her butt a while after she poops, the guinea pig shows no symptoms of pain and has normal eating habits.
Regarding the vet- I have mentioned this multiple times before, I live in a country and a place where there is no healthcare infrastructure to take specific care for guinea pigs, i visited the vet and even they are clueless, they recommended a vitamin k injection, but that didn't work, the guinea pig is still bleeding, they also prescribed a laxative but it doesn't look like a case of constipation, it was too sudden.

If anyone has any idea of any kind whatsoever, please help me out

I’m sorry to hear this.

It must be terribly frustrating not being able to access vet care but I’m afraid that is all we can advise. We are not vets and cannot have hands on access to your piggy so would not be able to know what is wrong with your piggy.

Piggies don’t get constipated. In a case where a piggy is not pooping it is because they are not eating enough hay.

Emergency and Crisis Care as well as Bridging Care until a Vet Appointment

Well the constipation theory was presented by the vet, as i mentioned earlier they are not trained for small animals like guinea pigs, they treat dogs cats etc etc but not small and exotic animals, and if i go on mentioning about medicines...... they'll start prescribing all the wrong medications that exists in the world, for example they once suggested Amoxicillin saying that they have fever..... only after a Google search did i realise that Amoxicillin is toxic to guinea pigs

But what shall I do now? Its been 4 days and 8 vet visits since the bleeding started, sorry for saying this but currently not in a smooth phase of life personally and I am unable to handle this trauma anymore, i want to purchase antibiotics and feed it to the guinea pigs hoping that it might work but medicines like baytril, bactrim etc dont exist in India, what else can i do? Please help, (going to a vet is no more an option now)

I’m sorry this is happening.
I’m really sorry but we can’t suggest anything - it could be that x rays, scans, tests are all needed to find out what is going on inside her - it’s not something we can tell you. It would be against the UK law for us to do so (not that we would have any idea what the issue is - we are only pet owners ourselves) only a qualified vet can diagnose the issue and prescribe appropriate treatment.

All you can do at home is basic care of daily weight checks to monitor hay, syringe feed if she is losing weight and keep her dry and warm

I’m so sorry.

Basically my situation is like, if may god forbid she has any underlying condition (which obviously cannot be detected given the very useless healthcare facility available around me), I have to see her pass away with my eyes and for the day to arrive, because if its not today then maybe some other day they might need a vet and there isn't one available

Asking this just out of curiosity, is there any guinea pig owner here from India? Please respond

It’s a very difficult and upsetting situation to be in when you can’t access good vet care.

I’m not sure we do have any regular members who are from India. You may get lucky and somebody may see this post.
There are some owners from India who have joined up, but I think mostly they come to ask one question and never come back on (or only come back very sporadically).
