Hi,
My poor guinea pig looks like she has some kind of tear in her foot.

I've put pressure on it, and it looks like it has stopped bleeding, but it starts again slowly when she walks on it.
I would put up a picture but I don't know how to.

I don't know what to do.

When your registration is complete you will be able to add a picture by pressing ‘attach files’ under the message box. It won’t be visible just yet though as you are a new member.

It would be best to see a vet to check it over - she may need painkillers and/or antibiotics.

Hi

She could have caught and ripped off a dead skin spur, ripped a nail or cut her foot on something. We cannot comment without more information.

If the bleeding continues, please see any vet within your reach as quickly as possible but contact your regular vet first if they are not too far away.
How Soon Should My Guinea Pig See A Vet? - A Quick Guide

In an emergency you can always make your own disinfectant at home by boiling 250ml of water, cooling it and then stirring in 1 teaspoon of salt.
First Aid Kit: Easily available non-medication support products for an emergency (includes tips for bleeding as well)

Your registration has now been fully processed (as soon as your status as new born pup appears on the left) and you should be able to upload a picture.

Thank you all very much for the replies.

The bleeding has stopped, and she is walking around with no problems (No limping or visable discomfort)

My local vets are closed today, so I can't book an appointment just yet.

I have disinfected her foot with the water/salt and I'm keeping a close eye on her.

Thanks again.

I am glad that the bleeding has stopped.

Please see an out-of-hours vet tomorrow or a vet promptly any time you notice signs of pain or infection (heat, swelling in the foot, redness in lighter skinned piggies).
Make sure that you keep the cage extra clean for the coming 2-3 days until the wound has closed.
