Hi,
Aries is a male guinea pig and was diagnosed with a very large bladder stone. He had surgery the next day (01/14/2020). There was some complications with the surgery, he was under anesthesia for longer than usual. He made it through and was discharged that night. He is currently on orbax, metacam, and buprenorphine. The first night he was home I got him to eat a little bit of veggies. I was thrilled. He peed on his own over night. I called the vet and she said that it was good news and he was okay. Today, I got him to eat a little veg this morning. But then he stopped eating. And now I am syringe feeding critical care and water mixed with a little cranberry juice. I am wondering if maybe he is in too much pain to eat? Is it the medication that’s making him not eat? Or should I be worried that there’s something else wrong? Please let me know your experiences with this. I am very worried about Aries.
Thank you!
