Black spot on Guinea Pig's skin

Hi, so my partner has a couple guinea pigs and one of them, a white-coat teddy, recently developed a growing black "spot" on his back above his hind legs. We're a bit worried it might be scabies so we booked a vet appointment for tomorrow. In the meantime does anyone have ideas on what this might be?

It looks like a burst cyst or trichofolliculoma to me; they are generally harmless. But if in any doubt (especially if you notice signs of infection like swelling, redness etc.) please see a vet. They can refill and do it all over again and again.
