Biting

When i bought Dori from pets at home she was in the adoption centre as her owner didnt want her anymore and she bites, although she hasnt bit me she has bit my boyfriend which makes me weary to hold her. plus Lily my newer guinea pig i think is blind so I'm scared of holding her dont want to scare her. Any suggestions?

my louis will sometimes bites my bf too, especially when he's feeling a bit hyper and is siting on my lap, it doesn't really hurt when they bite, so my bf says! maybe just try talking really calmly to her and let her settle on your lap for a bit and see how you get on...

just let them get use to you and take it slowly. when nursing have treats so dori has something else besides you to nibble on. maybe dori is sore somewhere and this is why she is biting? has she been checked by a vet? as for lily just talk to her in a calm loud voice and open the cage and let her get your scent and then stroke her and go to pick her up and give her a cuddle. hoping all goes well O0 sending hugs from us in oz :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Yes, we had a biter as well and all it was, the poor piggy was scared stiff when we handled him and he didn't like it at all. We then only handled piggy when we really had to and always put a towel around the body for comfort and hidey hole. We didn't get any bites after that because he had a place to hide and felt safe.
