Mikaylee is biting when we pick her up. I will put her on my chest and she will bite my shirt and her oull her head back. Then she bit my son's finger today, he said that she thought it was food, he did not want me to get mad at her. Is there something I can do to train her that is not good behavior?

Is she nibbling or biting? Mine pull at clothes or the blanket, like they're testing it for something - this can be the same with fingers, if they're used to being hand-fed! Nibbles can be affectionate, bites normally scar!

our piggies bite and nibble too. they can jolly bite hard can't they :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: but then you look into those sweet faces and you just melt. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: i would perhaps put Mikaylee in a towel so they feel secure, and just be patient or offer treats. please keep us posted and any good ideas please let me know. hugs and cuddles :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: girls send :-* :-* :-* and Mikaylee stop nibbling your family! :-* :-* :-* if concerned you could try the vets as seems strange she does it when picked up unless she is scared. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

I will put her on my stomach when I am on the couch, and she will run to the top by my chest. Then she will bite the top of my shirt and pull her head back. That was the first time that she bit my son, we have had her for 6 months now.

we had a guinea pig called rosie who would bite the OH's shirt to get him to hurry up to put her back into her cage so she could pee pee 0:) 0:) 0:) :smitten: :smitten: it was so funny in the first summer of 1999 when OH had just singlet on and rosie went to tug no shirt so she tugged skin, OH's face was a scream 2funny 2funny 2funny it still makes me laugh :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
perhaps offer her treats and when she climbs onto your shoulder quickily bring her down again. has she had her teeth checked? be patient with her and hopefully she'll grow out of it. hugs and cuddles :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: girls send :-* :-* :-*

One of mine does this. It seems to be frustration, I think it's maybe because they don't want to be picked up. Keep handling her and it should improve. I personally wouldn't put her down as soon as she nips, just move her head away. If she gets the idea that nipping will get her put back she'll never stop
